We made it! The MS 150 is a bike ride from Houston to Austin. Over a very pretty and sunny April weekend four of us rode up and down the hills the whole way there! The down hills were alot more fun than the uphills! Our goal is to raise $8000 to help with Multiple Sclerosis research and treatment. WE NEED YOUR HELP.

The oil changes are good for the whole year. You can also make a donation online at http://www.childadvocates.org/calendar/events/carpros.htm One hundred percent of the donations goes to Child Advocates. Beckwith’s Car Care is donating all of the fluids, filters and labor. The oil changes are for use on the same vehicle throughout 2011. The full-service oil change includes 5 quarts of oil (semi-synthetic fluid) and the filter. We also perform a courtesy check over of the vehicle and top off the other fluids. If a vehicle is a diesel, requires additional oil or full synthetic fluid, people can still get the full value of the standard oil change and their only responsibility is the difference for the extra product. You can make a donation throughout February.

The third Wednesday of every month brings a parking lot full of classic cars and friendly faces to the Richmond Arms Pub. The vehicles start arriving around six and the party continues for several hours. Thank you to all of the members of the Toad Motor Club for a welcoming evening when I visited in June. The Richmond Arms Pub is located at 5920 Richmond Avenue in Houston.
Local Veterans honored at Pine Forest Elementary November 11, 2010
The students at Pine Forest
Elementary honored about 40 of our Veterans and Active Military during a special presentation on Veteran's Day 2010.
The children sang songs to them. The 4th and 5th graders sang , Proud to be an
American and there wasn't a dry eye in the school.

Dr. Bonnie Longion honored as Top 10 Business Woman
Dr. Bonnie Longnion named in Top Ten Business Women of the Year
The
American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) named Dr. Bonnie Longnion,
a long serving educator of 40 years, one of the Top Ten Business Women
of the Year. The Top Ten Business Women of ABWA is a national program
that honors 10 outstanding members for achieving excellence in career,
education and community involvement. Dr. Longnion will receive her award
at the ABWA National Women’s Leadership Conference in Chattanooga,
Tennessee, October 28-30. “Top Ten candidates are a paradigm for ABWA
members who strive for excellence in their careers, their communities,
and in the Association,” says René Street, ABWA Executive Director. “It
is a privilege to recognize these outstanding women this year at the
National Conference and to gain inspiration from their accomplishments.”
